History Of Currys

Currys was founded in 1884 by Mr Henry Curry, originally selling bicycles and gradually became a UK leading brand for Televisions and whitegoods, by 1984 Currys Group PLC was a chain of 570 high street shops. In 1884, Currys was taken over by Dixons keeping the Currys branding. Currys, is now commonly known as Currys PC World and is well known for the supply of computing, major domestic appliances, small domestic appliances and home entertainment. As well as over 550 high street shops, Currys is also an online retailer, allowing customers to compare major brands online quickly and easily with next day delivery options.

Store opening times differ from store to store, with some stores opening at later times such as retail parks or late night shopping centres, however generally (particularly high street stores) are open at the following times:

Monday - Saturday - 09:00-17:30 Sunday - 10:30-16:30

Delivery Information

Delivery options vary depending on where the package is going and at what speed you require, however a free delivery service is offered for all orders other than major kitchen and laundry appliances, and TV's over 40" which takes up to 4 working days to arrive within the UK, larger orders are dependent on size and delivery prices will be confirmed at the check out basket. A next day option is available up to 9pm the night before which is excellent for late night shoppers or after you get in from work knowing it will be there the very next day, this service costs £3.95 for all orders. Alternatively you can collect orders from your local store if its more convenient.

Returns Policy

The Currys returns policy is simple, easy and completely free for all UK customers, you can return your items for whatever reason within 21 days as long as the item is still in a saleable condition, this is great news if you're not quite sure on the size or how the item will look in your home, you can simply return the item as long as it is in its original condition. Returns can be sent back via post or by dropping it into one of 600 UK stores free of charge. For larger items or items payed via PayPal, you will be required to contact their freephone service for collection or your item.

The Currys website is extremely secure and they take security as a whole very seriously within the company, their website is verified by Norton Secure, powered by Verisign to protect your personal data and payment methods are covered through MasterCard Secure Code or verified by Visa. Unfortunately, Currys tend to have several negative reviews about the brand from previous shoppers expressing their view on TrustPilot, however it's worth noting that the majority of people will only leave an online review of a store when they have experienced a problem, many thousands of customers who were very happy with the service will not leave any review at all even though they are perfectly happy with their purchase.
